Wapping Project E-mail
Tate Modern is not the only formerly power station museum in London. Wapping Project a little bit smaller than that Modern but still a must go place during your visit.

ImageAfter its closure as a Hydraulic Power station in 1977, the building was converted and reopened as an arts centre and restaurant (Wapping Food). Exhibitions are held in the basement and the main ground floor hall houses the restaurant. Some of the original equipment is still in place.

Since the arounding is also really quite and peaceful, a nice walk towards the Thames would be followed by the visit of Wapping Project and of coure finalized with a nice lunch/dinner at the Wapping restaurant.  Image

This project (Birdy) can be seen on the front garden of the place. There is a 100 nests on the tree and designed by the design school students of ECAL, Lausanne. Can be seen till the end of July 2009.

Entrance is admission free. Click for the last exhibitions and for the gmap .
