The Tate Modern is Britain's national museum of international modern art in South Bank. The building is former Bankside Power Station and, built in two stages between 1947 and 1963. The power station closed in 1981. Afterwards the building was converted into a museum and, opened on 12 May 2000.
Tate Modern is not the only formerly power station museum in London. Wapping Project a little bit smaller than that Modern but still a must go place during your visit.
